Further information

Bridging and Detaching sectors are identified through a network-percolation-based approach. They represent those sectors that allow the transition from a regime where the sectors are mainly organized in many small connected components to a regime where the sectors are mainly organized in one large connected component (bridging sectors) and vice versa (detaching sectors).

The percolation index shows the value of relative occupancy at which the transition for one regime to another occurs. The relative occupancy is computed as the ratio between the current occupancy and the maximal occupancy of that sector at the considered time within an AIRAC cycle.

Please notice that for detaching sectors lower values of the percolation index (more toward 0) are good and higher (more toward 1) are bad, while the opposite holds for bridging sectors.
